Croydon Park is largely a single-era suburb, and that makes it predictable in a useful way. The streets running off Georges River Road and around Centenary Park are dominated by inter-war brick — Californian bungalows, double-fronted semis, low-slung tiled hip roofs with wide eaves, and the occasional Spanish Mission detail.

It is also a suburb split three ways between councils, with Burwood Council, Canterbury-Bankstown and Inner West Council all taking in parts of it. Since the housing is consistent, that usually matters less here than in Croydon proper, but we still check the address before specifying anything street-visible.

What these roofs need

Almost all of them are tiled, and almost all of them are the right candidate for roof restoration rather than replacement — provided the structure is sound.

Access is the easy part

This is one of the simpler suburbs on our list to work in. Driveways, side paths, single storey, low pitch and no parapets.
