How this site works, and what it is not

The referral disclosure, in full

This is a referral website. Work is carried out by established, licensed and insured local roofing contractors.

Inner West Roofers is a referral site for roofing work across 29 Inner West suburbs. When you call or submit the quote form, your enquiry goes to a roofing contractor servicing your suburb. That contractor inspects the roof, quotes the work and carries it out. We would rather state that plainly than bury it.

What that means in practice

• The person who inspects your roof is a roofing contractor, not someone collecting details for a third party.
• Your contract for any work you accept is with that contractor. They quote it, do it and warrant it.
• The inspection and written quote are free and carry no obligation.
• Your details are used to quote the job you asked about. They are not sold on or added to marketing lists.

Licensing and insurance

Roofing and building work in New South Wales is licensed, and the requirements are administered by NSW Fair Trading. Work arranged through this site is carried out by established, licensed and insured roofing contractors working to those requirements.

No licence number is published here, because a number we cannot stand behind is worse than none. Ask the contractor who attends for their licence details and insurance certificate of currency — you are entitled to, and licences can be checked directly with NSW Fair Trading.

No reviews, ratings or testimonials

There are none on this site because there are none to show yet. No star rating, no review count, no quoted customer, no award, no founding year and no claimed number of completed jobs appears anywhere. If something reads like one of those, it is an error and we would like to hear about it. When a verified profile carries genuine reviews, those reviews will appear here and will be real.

Content, standards and planning

The roofing information on this site is general explanation of how these roofs are built and how they fail. It is not a substitute for an inspection of your specific roof.

References to Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and local planning instruments are included because they shape the work. Standards and controls are amended over time, and the authoritative text is always the current published version. Nothing here is legal or planning advice, and nothing should be read as a prediction of a council decision — consent is a matter for the consent authority.

Quotes, pricing and insurance claims

No prices appear on this site. Costs on this housing stock depend on roof size and pitch, the covering, structural repairs, access and scaffolding, heritage material matching and waste disposal. A figure given without an inspection would be wrong, so none is given. Quotes are issued in writing after a free inspection. Restoration and re-roofing programmes are weather-dependent and given as good-faith estimates.

Documentation can be prepared to support an insurance claim. Whether a claim is accepted, and what it pays, is entirely a decision for your insurer.

Third parties

Councils, NSW Fair Trading and Standards Australia are referred to for accuracy only. They are not affiliated with this site and do not endorse it, and we are not responsible for external website content.
